Andrew Goldstein from Cambridge Associates. That's what it said on my voicemail. The call was for someone who used to have my number though.
he was at Sawgrass Mills Mall. his name was jessica. he has a buddy name erica. his no. was with killeen per fort hood texas however she is in fort lauderdale FL. Anyways it is spam or a joke we think!
I would like to re-tract my last comment, I thought that the response from Calvin Wheeler was the rep who called me. I was venting (not realizing) that this was just another customers comment.
Please accept my apologies Calvin.
Just got a call from this number with a guy saying that I filled out a survey for a wal-mart gift card indicating that I wanted a job. I told him he was mistaken and he continued to try convincing me that someone in my household must have done so. This is a scam because the number called is a private corporate cell phone number that no one in my household uses. Hang up on these people
I just received a call..they left a message and asked me to call them back. Didn't say why or which company they were representing.
Calls every day and night. Won't leave a message on recorder. Sure is hard to cheat an honest person.
The identical thing happened to us. we paid off a small business loan to Bank One back in 2001, however somehow this firm (Portfolio Recovery) still had our details & was now asking we pay back a 'Auto loan'. i have never ever taken out a auto loan. ever. these people stated these people got our signature, however refused to send/fax/or e-mail a copy of this. we just ignore the calls, & this does not show up on our credit report or anything.
we learned about this no. with our brother. she sent us a sound file downloaded with her phone. this was almost impossible to grasp between the callers accent & the background noise. The callers name was jon some thing & her 'quarrel' (his word, not mine, however this may come to that) are alleged 'criminal activities' which will land us 'behind bars'. . Naturally, our brother was angry & upset. therefore am I. . was anybody familiar with this outfit?
Call came to my cell phone. Recording from a bank that I could not understand the name, said my credit card was being suspended for unauthorized use and asked me to input my credit card number. I tried to input a fake number, thinking I would be connected to a CSR, but the only options I was given was the correct account number or the incorrect account number. First, I do not give my cell phone number out to any companies; two, as far as I am aware, none of my credit cards have been used by an unauthorized user; and three, I would never input a credit card number into a system of a company I didn't know. Coincidentally, a co-worker received a similar call on her cell phone about two hours after my call.
I am on the phone with Verizon Wireless right now as I type this. The support rep confirmed that both numbers ARE Verizon Wireless numbers (their Financial Services department is based out of Washington). She looked it up and called it for me - just to make sure.
So this is not a phish or scam. The two numbers 2063153010 and 8002492462 are legitimate.
Please note, however, that someone can produce a fake Caller ID number and then ask you to call a different number - making them look legitimate on the caller ID and then redirecting you to a malicious phone number. For this reason it is important to pay attention to the number they redirect you to.
As the representative pointed out, if you're ever unsure just call *611 from your phone and ask them about the message.
I hope this helps someone else.
This individual rang us proclaiming to be a juvinile probation officer, however we have never ever been in trouble with the law, or have broken any laws that would require us to be contacted by a juvinile probation officer. we think that this was either a con or possibly somebody who was attempting to make lame prank calls.
Some french man (I suppose, may be belgium or somethin) keep on thinkin' i am her old pal. she does not talk english, & soon as we say 'YOU had THE incorrect no., FOLK' she just hangs up.
I received a call from this # just now. It's some man from "India" (I presume) who says that I am involved in fraudulent activity and my soscial security # - which he recites my social security # (and it is correct, by the way). He tells me to call him becuase he may be able to "help me".
Does anyone know who to report this to - as in a valid U.S. agency or otherwise?
From all the comments left at www.mrnumber.com this number is not a valid number and probably is spoofed.
we just start yelling 'WHY U ring HERE, I engaged CHOP CAR, YOU NO ring ANYMORE' these people normally put the phone down before we can get that out.
guy named Henry that will not stop calling me. called me almost 50 times on 8-5-13 without picking up.
These A$$HOLES call me non stop its definitly telemarketing. Believe it is related to heating inspections...please f*** off
I got a call from this number and they got my number because of my business. The woman would not stop talking and I could barely get a word in. She kept wanting me to open up my browser and show me how I could improve my website visibility on the web. I tried to ask her specific questions, but she kept talking really fast and would not take No for an answer. I did not open up my browser and I finally had to hang up on her.
Okay, therefore we had a unidentified no. with this individual known as Matt. we refused to answer the telephone & the msg she ended up leaving is unprofessional particularly for a job offer. 'Hi *******, ur info is passed down to us & we have a job position we believe you would be interested in. Please ring back. ' There is a bit of shaking in her vocals & some slight stuttering. Now i have researched to see when others got dealt with the identical individual & these people experienced threats made by him. Be aware of this no.
this person sent me a picture mail of his boner with the caption 'he is mad'. i do not know who this is. ew.
Robo-call from "National Debit Credit Bank", telling me there was a fraud issue with my debit card, and I only have a debit card with chase. asked me to press 1 to clear up the issue.
Got 3 calls in 1 day. Says it's from Mass. I don't know anyone there or have business there.
Get serveral harrassing messages from this person. have asked numerous times to please stop contacting me but this person does not seeM to get the point
They called twice within 30 min. Each time they hung up when I started asking questions. They claimed I owe $16,000 from CitiBank CC. Telemarketers
They have called numerous times in the past couple weeks, sometimes as much as 4 to 5 times a day! They want to sell us life insurance. Told them not interested, but it has done no good.
Called my cell phone at 3:36 p.m. eastern time. Picked up, nothing. Tried calling back and got the automated message about pressing 1 to be put on their DNC list, then it just hung up.
Scam threat. Make it sound like they are going to file legal charges. Voice sounded like 'Apu' from the Simpsons. But very common english sounding name. It is a scam based on the fact that some where at some time a person may have filed on line for a pay day loan. That data gets sold everywhere.
some female left a message sounding drunk. only thing said was 'let me know'' in a drunken voice.
I got a call today (Dec. 9, 2010) from a man with very broken English stating that his name is Mr. David Brock (I think). He said that he was calling from Winners International and said to call back this number since I won $ in a sweepstakes. His last sentence was "It's important..okay". Obviously, it is a scam since I didn't enter any sweepstakes.
Voice mail left on business phone after 8:00 at night with no identifier other than a person's name and reference #. I called back and they said I was a reference on something for my husband but refused to discuss with me even though we have both names on everything we do. Told them I wouldn't relay a message until they told me what company they were with. It is a collection agency for something we don't even have.
