"Tim" called me as well and provided an "Employer ID # WIN1007." This definitely a bold-faced scam. While "Tim" was still on the line, I called a friend who works for Microsoft and verified that Microsoft DOES NOT initiate calls to users for support. During the conversation which "Tim" could hear, "Tim" hung up.

They send me an unsolicited text telling me I one a Walmart gift card. they url they claimed I needed to go to was bogus, I did not follow the link in the text, but rather tried to type it in to a browser on a secure machine. The url did no resolve.

When I received the call it said they spoke to my credit card companies and they authorized them to speak with me to lower my rate, Funny! I don't have a credit card! I pressed 9 to opt for no more calls. Thank to Mr. Number they're now blocked! ! !

They called on what used to only be a data plan line I had on a Wifi hotspot. I had it changed to accept voice and put it on an older 4G phone that could also be a hotspot. They called while I was at work, so I never spoke with them. They left no voicemail.
